Here was a paintless dent removal on a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica right fender large dent that we repaired last week.
This dent was caused by someone hitting the fender with the bumper of their car. This dent was about 6 – 8 inches in length and had very minimal paint damage. Paintless dent repair was a great choice to remove this dent over taking the car to a regular auto repair shop for body repair and paint.

I have been doing paintless dent repair for over 11 years. The auto dealers want to get their vehicles repaired at the cheapest price possible. Most are not concerned with the quality of the repairs, they just want to get the car repaired enough that the customer may not notice.

I have noticed that most people think that if they take their vehicle to the dealer they expect to get a quality repair and pay the cost to have it repaired right. When it comes to the auto reconditioning, this is not always the case. Most vendors that are doing the repairs at the dealer are not doing a quality repair. They may be inexperienced or just trying to do a quick repair because they are not charging for a proper repair. Now this is not the case with all auto repair companies. Some companies do care about their business and provide excellent repairs for their customers. They take pride in their work and will always do the best repair they can.

Some things you can look for to see if the vehicle has not been properly repaired with paintless dent repair are: small pick marks in the paint, “wrinkles” in the metal, minor cracks or chips in the paint, and holes punched or drilled in the interior door jams. Paintless Dent Repair in Brooklyn Park MN

It was a beautiful day on Monday to do some dent repair outside. I had a couple of customers that wanted me to make some minor paintless dent repairs in Brooklyn Park at their homes. Being it was such a nice day and it was just a short drive from our dent repair shop in Blaine, I was able to offer the mobile service. I would like to do most repairs at our shop, that way we have access to all of our tools and there is no issue with the weather when making repairs indoors. Mobile service is good for minor door dings that take less than an hour. If the repairs are going to take longer than that, it is best to have them done at our dent removal shop.

The first repair for the day was on a Audi A6. This car was a lease return and was inspected by an inspection company before turning it back in. The inspection noted the dent and that it could be repaired before returning it back to the dealer. I was able to remove the dent that was between 1 and 2 inches. The cost to repair the dent was $100.

The next repair in Brooklyn Park was another similar dent on an Olds Aurora. The dent was about 2 inches and the cost of repair was $100.

Honda Civic Hybrid Door Dent

The door of this 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid was repaired with paintless dent repair. The drivers door received a good hit to it. The impact made what looks to be two dents, but it is caused when something hits the door at the point where there is the safety impact beam inside the door panel. This causes the door to “wrap” around the impact beam and to making the metal of the door to stick out. It then leaves dents above and below the beam.

This can be a complex dent to repair with paintless dent removal. It involves removing the part of the damage that is pushed out using special tools that will not damage the outside paint finish of the panel. We then use the traditional paintless dent repair method to slowly work the dent out from inside the panel moving the metal with small pushes.

The pictures below shows the damage before the repair, during mid repair, and the final finished repair.

The cost to repair the dent was $175. This would have been about $300 to $500 with conventional auto body repairs. The repair time took under 3 hours. Compare that to 2 to 4 days at an auto body shop.

Here is a BMW 530XI that had two small nickle size door dings on the right front door and one door dent that was about 2 inches in the right rear door.

This was repaired at a considerable savings of time and money compared to auto body repairs. The customer had received an estimate from the BMW dealer body shop for $600 to repair the door dings.

Busy With Hail Damage Repairs

We had a busy year in 2008 at Excel Dent Removal with hail damage repairs in Minnesota . We had repaired over several hundred vehicles with hail damage in the summer and fall months of 2008. We also repaired several cars and trucks with door dings and dents.
